The first day of the convention started off by the Military Order of the
Purple Heart members and APWU members Don Kramer and Al Matchovich posting the
colors and playing taps to honor those who have fallen before us. It was
then opened by a prayer given by APWU member Rev. Johnathan Befus.
Afterward, we had speeches by our new Clerk Craft NBA Linda Turney, National
APWU Clerk Craft Director - James McCarthy, Clerk Craft NBA - John Clark, National APWU Assist Maintenance
Craft Director - Greg See, and NBA Maintenance Craft - Troy Rorman. To
close out the day, the delegates who wished to participate were invited to go
and be part of a Bowling Tournament (fyi...it used to be a
tradition of the MPWU to offer a bowling outing at the State Convention)
